This work was a commissioned piece based on a previous painting, “Banksia in the Mist”.  The clients from Harvey Galleries in Sydney asked for a piece that had specific dimensions and similar subject matter and composition to the original.  But most importantly, they fell in love with the blue colour palette that infuses the work with a soft misty quality.  They wanted a painting that was atmospheric and moody.  For inspiration I turned to the interior bush landscapes of North Stradbroke Island which has a proliferation of Coastal Banksias and a unique variety of eucalypts and wetland flora.
