Black Mountain is a beautiful bushland reserve in the heart of Canberra. There is a lovely walking track that winds up through eucalypt forests and views over the city and surrounding mountains. It is quiet and peaceful, with just the sounds of bird wings through the leaves. The landscape is dry and earthy, the colours are a muted selection of blue grey and the barks of the gums are covered in intricate designs of organic shapes and scribbles. Such a beautiful place to surrender to earth and experience the Australian bush. This is the third in a series of 3 Black Mountain paintings and has been purchased for the Parliament House Art Collection in Canberra through Gallery One.
