This intimate painting of the white-coated gumnuts of the Cascading Silver Princess was inspired by a trip over to the Perth and Margaret River areas of Western Australia. These unusual eucalypts are native to this area and the branches fall with the weight of gumnut clusters. Even though the nuts are small in comparison to their counterparts in Queensland, they have a soft powdery white coverage and remind me of little toy Christmas bells.
