My inspiration for this particular painting comes from the celebration of holidays spent at the beach when I was a child and when my children were young. At Christmas time the Australian Beaches are bustling with locals and tourists trying to escape the heat and enjoying some downtime with their families. There is always so much to visual delights for an artist and the difficulty for me to paint some quiet areas within the crowded vignettes of patterns and people.
