The wild brumbies of the Alpine National Parks have been an historical cultural symbol of the early settlers and pioneers in the Victorian high country. They have spurned books and movies and ‘The Man from Snowy River’ is a favourite of mine. It romances the bush and the landscape cinematography is just beautiful. I love the idea of wild horses roaming free but as a nature lover, I understand the environmental concerns of damage to native flora, marshes, bogs and the delicate balance of unique species in the mountainous regions.
This work celebrates the iconic brumbies and the patterns of trees and shrubs that are scattered over the high plains and remote mountains of the Great Dividing Range.
