This series of 3 paintings was inspired by the liquid blue shallow waters off the coastal beaches of Queensland where I grew up. On clear days, these tranquil waters remind me of the beautiful range of blues that can be found in the precious topaz stone. I have tried to keep the pristine white primed linen in areas throughout the painting to enhance the jewel like vignettes of colour and shapes that are scattered along the beach.
