The Perth Botanic Gardens in Kings Park were an absolute delight to visit. The meandering paths and quiet spaces are designed for the visitor to fully experience the natural bush. Huge Mottlecah eucalypt with rounded leaves and great cuplike nuts sprouting from long tendrils grow regally amongst Kangaroo Paw and native wild flowers. After many walks through the surrounding Perth bushlands and hills, this painting developed from my love of the dry beauty of the Western Australian Landscape.
