The Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird Sanctuary in the hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast were the inspiration for this work.  Established tree ferns overhung a lush semi-tropical garden of ponds, native flowering plants and eucalypts that framed a backdrop of views out to the coast. The red/green complementary colour scheme was a somewhat unusual for me but because of the tropical vibrant plants that grew in abundance I was curious to take on the  challenge of this palette.
