Standing underneath these beautiful native trees gives me comfort and pause from the noise and bustle of city life. Even though they are abundant all over Australia, these weeping Callistemons are particularly beautiful in the parklands of Adelaide, maybe the weeping bouquets of red are just a bit more vibrant in the daylight or maybe it’s just because I had the time to stop and really see them on my recent sojourn to South Australia. I love the way the tendrils of deep green leaves, tiny little gum nuts and soft flowers cascade down to touch the skin of people walking past, hoping they will stop and breathe in the quiet spaces these trees create.
