The Roma Street Parklands in Brisbane City has some beautiful waterlily ponds with lots of different varieties of aquatic plants.  Banks are lined with weeping melaleuca, water thirsty paperbark trees, native shrubs, soft grasses and water reeds that poke out amongst the flowers and cast shadows that play in the reflected light.  On blue sunny days the water reflects the sky and the lilies reach up through the leaves searching for the light.
