The idea for this painting was to use an analogous colour scheme of vivid spectrum reds and oranges with a complementary set of neutral greys and creams. The rich colours dominate the composition and create an energy of hot afternoon sunshine, or a fire landscape with red earth. A few years ago I went on an outback art workshop near Cunnamulla and I remember the rounded boulder formations and families of grasstrees in the ravines and hillsides of the Carnarvon Ranges.
This original painting is protected by archival varnish and the linen stretched frame is painted around the edge in one solid matching colour, so no need to add extra framing. Just unwrap, hang and enjoy your investment.
