Garden of Gold was selected in the 2016 Waterhouse Art Prize and was purchased by the South Australian Museum.  It was awarded a Highly Commended.

The Australian landscape is changing rapidly as industry and commerce introduce new ways of using the land to create material and economic wealth, but at what cost?  Acalypha (introduced) and the Ivory Curl (native) grow quietly together in a garden bathed in gold.  Getting the balance right is difficult.   Adapting, blending, integrating, exploring diversity, creating harmony and cultural connections is a complex issue, but our relationship with this land and its natural environment is unique in the world and this vulnerable, and sublime island home is our liquid gold.
