Rainbow Bay is one of the most popular beaches on the Gold Coast. On most days of the year, families flock to this sheltered beach because it has few reps and safe swimming conditions. Because it is close to snapper rocks it often produces curled waves and attracts the local surfers. In this large-scale painting I have used bright high-key colours to create a relaxed but vibrant work. My intention was to create a fun-loving joyful scene that reflects the best of the Gold Coast beach life.
